Elegant Stay with Room for Improvement
Our stay offered a peaceful retreat with lovely green tea in our room. The kaiseki dinner provided an artistic culinary experience, but not every dish aligned with our tastes. For future guests, I recommend confirming preferences in advance, and perhaps opting for a room not facing the main road for quiet.

Private onsen communal bath, charming Japanese atrium garden, kimonos provided in-room
Finding this hotel was a challenge due to lack of clear directions!!! The noise from the main road was quite disruptive, making it hard to relax in what is supposed to be an oasis!!!

Just a smart choice for a short stayover in Kyoto with attractive and competitive value for money. The traditional Japanese decor and warm hospitality made our experience special. Consider asking for dietary accommodations ahead of time for meals.

Perfect for a family seeking tradition
The stay was outstanding. We got to wear kimonos and enjoy a spectacular kaiseki dinner served in numerous beautiful small courses that were exquisite. The onsen bath experience was relaxing, being the only guests at the time allowed us to unwind in peace.
It was pricey , but worth every penny.

Our stay was fantastic, with the staff tidying our room and putting away the futons while we enjoyed breakfast. The location was perfect—nicely tucked away in the heart of Gion, right by Yasaka Shrine, and a stone’s throw from Kiyomizudera! The breakfast spread was incredible, easily one of the best dining experiences we savored in Japan.
However, the onsen was a bit small and could benefit from more space for relaxation.

great experience but some small flaws
The multi-plate breakfast was a delightful feast, beautifully presented in a serene setting. I appreciated the hotel’s attention to detail, especially the yukata and sandal dress code which added to the overall ambiance. The modern bathroom facilities were a pleasant surprise, providing both convenience and comfort. Many guests resonated with the charming hotel grounds, which enhanced the stay immensely.
The sleeping arrangements on the floor were initially daunting.
